Khmelnytsky variety municipal brass band is a professional team, established in 1993. The position of the main conductor was occupied by: Anatoly Slyusar, Vasyl Stanko, Volodymyr Borutsky in different years of the formation and activities of the collective. Much effort in organizing concert activities was made by administrator Grigoriy Paralis and a managing director Anatoly Mykolaychuk. Nowadays, the chief and art director of the brass band is Taras Beznyk.
The repertoire of the band is quite wide and diverse, it has over 1000 works of varying degrees of complexity: from folk melodies and rock marches to the operatic overtures, complex works of classical Ukrainian and world music, jazz compositions.
The brass band has a rich creative biography: it is a diplomat and a winner of the numerous competitions and festivals, participant of holidays and celebrations, in particular: the international competition of brass music "Surmie-97" (Rivne city), the Truskavets international festival of brass band orchestras (Truskavets city , 2000), the festival in honor of the 10th anniversary of the affiliated cities (Chekhanov city, Poland, 2007), the international festival of brass orchestras in Europe (Gravelin, Saumur, France, 2008, 2011), international festival of brass band orchestras (Swieta, Poland, 2013).
The orchestra is the founder of the open brass band festival "Proskurivsky Defile" and jazz music festival "Jazz Fest Podillya", which take place in Khmelnytsky city since 2005. The first in Ukraine collective of majeurets "Alpha" was created in 2010 at the orchestra, under the leadership of Alexander Mylnikov. That event pushed to the further development of the collective, activation of concert and tour activities in Ukraine and abroad. The variety brass band has the permanent solo programs in concert halls and on the summer grounds of the city, organizes its own subscription of concerts for students of Khmelnitsky city. Today the Khmelnitsky Municipal variety brass band is constantly searching for its own performing figure.
